HISTORY
The
name Dragt Construction Inc. is synonymous with the words;
quality, competitive pricing, and more importantly honesty.
Two other words that can be used to characterize this
dynamic company are experience and family.
Housing projects, commercial/retail buildings, and dairy
construction are some of the best-known areas the company has
entered into. Dragt
Construction has been “doing good work for good people” in
the magic valley for over 15 years and as the company grows we
never forget where we came from.
The
Dragt name is widely recognized in the Central California dairy
industry, not as a well-established construction company but
rather for having a reputation for being successful dairymen.
Gerrit Dragt grew up a dairyman's son and worked his whole life
helping his family dairy thrive. A Dutch immigrant,
Gerrit’s father illustrated best how a self-starter coming to
a new land with almost nothing can create a thriving business
piece by piece. Years later having also owned, built, and
managed their own dairy Gerrit and Lori Dragt (his wife of now
29 years) moved to Idaho with the knowledge and skills necessary
to startup and operate a dairy construction company.
Dragt
Dairy Construction Inc. (AKA Dragt Construction Inc.) started
out as most businesses do, the bottom. With only a trailer
and a welder Gerrit and Lori Dragt (owners/managers) set out to
start a business they could call their own. With the help
of their four young children and local dairymen willing to help
out a struggling company Dragt Construction began to grow.
Fifteen years later they command several construction crews, and
a fleet of trucks and equipment. Known throughout the
Magic Valley (Twin Falls, ID and surrounding towns) Gerrit and
Lori Dragt have established themselves as the first company many
dairymen, developers, and out of state contractors call if they
have a project to be done.
Dragt
Construction continually seeks new innovative methods of
construction, they are most widely known for developing an
improved dairy shade system. Tilt-Up concrete construction has
now been added to the list of construction methods Dragt
Construction offers its customer. Through hard work, integrity,
attention to detail Dragt Construction has branched out and now
has become a growing leader in the local steel building
construction industry. Dragt Construction does not limit
its expertise to dairy work; rather the company has an
impressive portfolio complete with residential, commercial, and
industrial projects.
As Dragt
Construction grows and develops itself as the local industry
leader in Steel building construction their always hard working
children have positioned themselves within the company to
contribute to the greater success and growing reputation.
Peter and Joy Dragt work along side their father on
various job sites learning the skills necessary to one day take
over the construction side of the business.
Anna Hoobler (formally Dragt) works in the office with
her mother Lori both insuring bills get mailed and employees get
paid. Her husband
Brandon works as a project manager overseeing housing
projects, website development, and drafting.
Together the family is working to continue to help Dragt
Construction grow and meet the needs of its discerning
clientele.
